I had a meeting at the Potters Heron with some colleagues and stayed over. Great facilities for a meeting, had super dinner, good choice and great service. My room was lovely and warm and spacious. Will definately come and stay again

Always enjoy staying at the Potters Heron. Nice rooms - although some could do with redecorating (nothing major, just a bit tired). The food is absolutely amazing - mind was blown on my last trip. Burger and fish finger sandwich were both amazing - we’re still talking about them. Lovely staff too!

We are staying in the hotel however will leave a review once left. Our first experience for lunchtime was a disaster. We came back to chandlers Ford to visit family and it’s sad to see the potters heron not how it was. Staff seem so confused as to what they are doing and lost to be fair. Turning elderly customers down who had turned up for lunch when the place was empty. We waited for our food for about 45mins. My husband had just run half a marathon and was starving! To receive burnt bread and chips still frozen. Was so depressing. The soup clearly not homemade ( not everywhere does, I understand) however had some very strange after taste for a carrot and coriander soup. Such a shame as we were both starving. An elderly gentleman sat behind us had the same sandwich which was even worse looking. Do people check what is being sent out to customers??

I didn't stay in the hotel just went for lunch as passing through with my Sister and Brother in law. Firstly, very limited lunchtime menu but decided on chicken and sweet chilli rolls....only to be told there was no chicken and the menu had changed, according to the bar staff. I asked about other options as there was nothing else on the menu I fancied and I was told by a chap (who could possibly have been manager) that there was turkey with cranberry.... perfect, so ordered and sat down with drinks. After about 45minutes we were a little concerned that no food had arrived so have it another 15minutes and went to enquire. Staff said she will find out. Went and sat down and she appeared looking very flustered.....there was no turkey. Well, there was but it wouldn't be ready for about another three hours. Seriously?! And when were we going to be told this little nugget of information?? Absolutely dreadful. Food & drinks: As I have already done.... awful.

It was an ok hotel good food and drinks but extremely pricey! And we stayed here in the hotel and we went upstairs hotel room was cleaned to standard but we found a pear of women’s underwear in a side drawer next to the bed witch was disgusting and when we was eating at the restaurant downstairs there was quite a lot of stains on the furniture Nearby activities: Poltons Park

The places is beautiful and definitely the staff is the star of the place. However, the mugs in the room were dirty, and our dinner took 1 hour and a half to come to table. I would still recommend the place.

We booked this hotel through the paultons park website, as a package. It was reasonably priced and a good hotel. The reception had a bit of a damp smell, but I suspect this was due to the miserable weather and people walking in water. The rooms were nice and ok decent repair, the showers were hot and the rooms were warm. We did notice quite a bit of condensation on the single glazed windows however it didn't feel damp or cold at all during our stay. There was a lovely view from the room. Breakfast was very nice and abundant - a help yourself Full-English buffet.

For the purpose of my visit location was perfect along with the staff, they were great. However, do not be fooled by the nice looking thatched exterior because it’s a different story when you walk inside! The place stinks of damp, likened to my nan’s when I was a kid. It is majorly run down with torn carpets and stained carpets in places. There is no air conditioning with windows in our room not closing properly. Dirty stains all around the room with signs of damp all around the windows. Simply not good and not worth the money! Rooms: Long overdue a complete refit and decoration!!!

I want to give this place 5 stars just based on the amazing staff that works at this place. But unfortunately I can't. As for the location, it is perfect it is minutes from everything. The service was 5 stars. The staff is amazing. I don't know how many times I need to mention that to let people know. They have some of the best hotel staff I have ever come across. Now, let's talk about the hotel. It is run down, worn down, stained carpet, no air conditioning. Thankfully, the weather was cool. The windows don't close correctly. The caulking around the windows is peeling and cracking as if the windows are about to fall out. There is no water pressure in the shower. The hotel smells like my grandmother's basement. It has a very old, musky, moldy smell everywhere you go. You can see water coming in through the windows when it rains and the paint is coming off. The walls around the windows are bubbling under the paint. The doors don't close right. They slam very loudly. They sill us a key with a big wooden stick that doesn't fit in your pocket. Please remodel fix this place up...

A very quaint looking hotel from the outside and surprisingly large on the inside. Very attractive thatched roof on the main front of house hospitality building. Comfortable room with everything you need except no air-conditioning or iron and ironing board provided in room. I really liked the interior design of the bar and restaurant. Clearly a nice wedding venue. I stayed for business and the staff were very polite and helpful. Good price for room and breakfast. My only criticism is the paintwork across the whole hotel could do with re-doing as it is well worn.
